Born in 1953 Ronald
Joseph Scala grew up in
western
Pennsylvania
on “Poe” Drive, hence a lifelong interest in horror fiction.
While in college a pivotal
event transformed him from an avid reader to an aspiring writer. He came upon an
abandoned barn littered with the remains of…well, you’ll have to wait for
the book to get the details. Anyway, the strange events that occurred on that
day in 1975 inspired Ron to eventually write his first horror novel. Completed
in 2005 he is hoping to have it published soon. Ron’s short stories have
appeared in several on-line publications and many are included in his short
story collection The Long Hour Before Light.
Ron has studied martial
arts for twenty-eight years. He makes ends meet with a day job as a Medical
Physicist. He practices in eastern
Ohio
and western
Pennsylvania
where he lives with his wife and three children.
